The twelve days of Christmas mark a period of transition – there are 6 days in December and 6 days in January. Therefore, an ideal time to pause and review the past to ensure we continue to grow and make better choices for the new year ahead. We are invited to enter a time of rest and reflexion in order to re-align ourselves and take time to hear our inner voice telling us what is our heart’s yearning to manifest or co-create with the universe this coming year.
We also know from tradition that these days are believed to be ‘sacred’ – since the antiquity they were special rituals followed in those days and the veil between Heaven and Earth was said to be thinner then. A time when we can receive graces from above if only we took the time to ask…
The sacred words taken from the Holy Scriptures for each day comes from a spiritual exercise I received many years ago in a seminar run by a Canadian philosopher and theologian – they made a very strong impression on me and for the past 25 years I have been using them to help me grow spiritually. As soon as I started to include these meditations in my spiritual practice, I realised that these sentences were very powerful tools. They certainly helped me grow. This is why I wanted to share them with you here, in my blog, and also in my book ‘You are the light of the world‘ in many more details.
I do hope you will too be inspired to include this in your spiritual practise – I would love to hear from you, if you do.
This is a recapitulate table to show you the whole exercise for the 12 days – I have given some suggestions for each day in separate blogs.
These mediations can obviously be done at other time of the year, and I have listen each of them in connection to each month of the year – there is a progression though to follow – the first four meditations are linked to the way we are in relationship with ourselves, then the following four are about our relationship with others and the last four focus on our relationship with the divine.
