Désert & Oasis d’égypte
13 - 21 February 2027
with Haniel Sofia Rivière
Discover the captivating world of deserts and oases in Egypt. We will spend time admiring the beauty of the place, walking in silence, meditating around a fire, admiring the stars and the Milky Way. Nous allons explorer des oasis qui renferment des sites sacrés, ainsi que la culture et l’artisanat des Bédouins. Nous allons organiser nos excursions en Jeep 4 x 4 avec notre chauffeur expérimenté dans le désert. We will stay in individual tents in the desert and in charming hotels in the oases.
Sat 13 (Day 1)
Arrival in Luxor or Hurgadah, depending on your flight. Transfer to the hotel located in West Luxor. Presentation and introduction to the week and the group. Dinner at the hotel or on the banks of the Nile.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Karnak temple and visit Luxor temple. Lunch and dinner on the banks of the Nile.
Mon 15 (Day 3)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early departure in 4x4 for the Djara cave (El Qaf). It is located near the caravan trail linking the Farafra oasis to Assiout. A captivating space of sparkling rock created by the corrosion of limestone by rain around 55 million years ago. Superb stalactites to admire. Lunch, dinner in the desert and night in a tent.
Tue 16 (Day 4)
After the sunrise, not to be missed...the traditional breakfast will be served to us in the desert before heading towards the white desert. This part of the desert has the particularity of having a soil made of white limestone which contrasts with the yellow sand as well as many quite astonishing formations due to erosion. We will take the time to honor the unlikely presence of an immense tree in the middle of this mineral world...a 600-year-old acacia (El Santa). Dinner in the desert and night in a tent.
Wed 17 (Day 5)
After breakfast, departure for the oasis of Dakhla. Probably the most picturesque and authentic in the Western Desert. Landscape of palm trees and crops between the dunes. We will visit the ancient Islamic village of Qalamun and the Roman temple (Deir el-Haggar). Dinner and night at the hotel.
Thur 18 (Day 6)
The Dakhla oasis is made up of around twenty villages where traditions are still strongly preserved. We will visit El-Qasr which has a lot of charm and the village of Balaat which is a paradise for photographers. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Fri 19 (Day 7)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the Kharga oasis (distance to travel 200 km). Our hotel is an eco-lodge which is close to two major sites. The Hibis temple, dedicated to the god Amoun, from the 6th century BC. One of the best preserved from this period. The oldest Christian necropolis in Bagawat, 4th century AD.
