I have been hosting small groups in Egypt since 2023. This blessed country has become somewhat of my adoptive home since I first visited it when I was very young. Our destination was Heliopolis, a wealthy suburb of Cairo where my Greek grandmother lived, and we enjoyed our summer family vacations along the sea west of Alexandria. Pharaonic Egypt and its magnificent temples, mostly along the Nile, captivated me from an early age. The depth of Egypt's history and culture goes beyond that. The Apostle Saint Mark converted this nation to Christianity, and a sizable portion of its citizens are still Coptic Christians today.

Numerous monasteries, churches, and vestiges from the first centuries of Christianity bear witness to this past, which saw the emergence of monasticism. Additionally, Egypt displays a stunning natural beauty that blends a variety of environments: the Red Sea, which is home to coral reefs and wild dolphins; the Mediterranean Sea, which offers its fine sandy beaches; the majestic Nile, which is the world's largest river and a true lifeline, feeding palm groves and cultivated lands; and the vast desert expanses, whether white, black, crystalline, or those of Sinai. Therefore, there are numerous opportunities for discovery!
